A Columbia, South Carolina, native, John graduated from Clemson University and then earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina.

John previously served as a staff attorney with the South Carolina Attorney General and as counsel with the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, U.S. House of Representatives.  John is a board member for the S.C. Administrative and Regulatory Law Association, sits on the Board of Visitors for Clemson University, and has been appointed by the Supreme Court to serve as an Attorney-to-Assist the Disciplinary Counsel.  He is also a member of the South Carolina Judicial Council.  John is a former Judge Advocate in the United States Army Reserve and served on active duty in the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm.

John is admitted to the state and federal courts of South Carolina.
