Originally from West Chester, Pennsylvania, John graduated with honors from Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in business management.  He received his Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law, graduating magna cum laude.

John continued his education at the University of Florida Levin College of Lawe where he obtained his Masters of Law (LL.M.) degree in taxation.  During his time at the University of Florida, he worked as a graduate research assistant and was named a Graduate Tax Scholar.

John is admitted to practice in the state courts of South Carolina and the U.S. Tax Court.
